This path used to sit under the folk-spotlight section as a gallery. It still does. The pictures are the magazine’s own illustrations. The writing is about how a spotlight page should treat a face.
A spotlight that uses a portrait it does not hold rights to is not folk. It is just another scrape. If we ever publish a portrait, we will say who made it and whether the subject agreed.
Until then, the “gallery” is a reminder: look hard, take less, caption honestly. Then go back to the spotlights and the interviews hub.
